I dont feel safe in my house.?

ok. we got robbed a few months back, they stole our computer and credit cards. we r a republican family (i think he only votes conservative b/c he is presbyterian and against gay rights/abortion) but hes for gun control. i told him im not comfortable/feel safe in our house anymore, but he just wont buy a gun. instead he just keeps a teeball bat next to his bed :P how could i convinve him tp get a gun? ps im like superconservative.
